The Introduction of Laser Metal Deposition System
Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) 3D printing can conduct the process of cladding and strengthening, repairing, remanufacturing or direct manufacturing on the surface or inner wall of metal workpiece by the material of metal and their composite powder like steel, Co-based and Ni-based alloy and its composites. It is superior in its fast rapid prototyping, dealing with traditional problems in time-consuming and the shortage of manufacturing process equipment, which in turn are greatly beneficial to cost reduction and efficiency improvement. Based on the application requirements of large and complex LMD metal parts in aviation and aerospace fields, the coaxial powder feeding and wire feeding of Laser Metal Deposition processing system (including 2000W fiber laser, industrial robot, control integration system, etc.) has been successfully developed. It is capable of manufacturing complex precision metal parts tailored with the integration of structure and function, while providing solutions for large-scale metal LMD components from the aspects of design, simulation analysis, composite manufacturing and green remanufacturing.
